Lithium Liabilities

As the clockwork mouse untangles the copper wire in my mind,

I fall behind the pack,

Left for the Apache and the wildebeest to feast upon,

To relish and cherish my golden wockersnatch.

Broken though it be,

Its mechanism did also baffle me.

I break loose and run,

Scampering away from the cherry trees,

Until I find my oasis in the storm:

A mushroom omelette doused in salty lithium.
